It's a funny thing, the light at night. There have been many nights where we're happily playing outside only to look at the clock and realize we've missed bedtimes by an hour.
When I was a teenager, we loved to waterski and tube late at night, the lake was calm, no one else was out.
It was amazing.
It was also my favorite time for a boat ride when I was a kid.

Folks in AK and the NWT are a cranky bunch cause they don't know when to go to bed unless they look at their watch. Therefore they don't get enough sleep. I ran outside one year and actually stopped my husband from mowing the lawn cause it was 10:30 at night and he didn't realize that some people might be trying to sleep!

I cannot fathom what it must be like to have sunlight all day like that. On that one hand it must be great, on the other how does anyone sleep? DH has family in NWT and vistied there during summer solstice as a teenager. He remember playing outside until 12am lol... and apparenly bbq's have a habit of running really late since it never gets dark!
